How is media language used in 2 media products to create meaning through constructing representations and following genre conventions?
BRIEF 1

Analysis: front cover 1
In this media product the main character shown on the front cover is a tiger. The tiger presented is shown in a negative way as it is shown in almost like a hunting stance as it is bearing its fangs and almost pouncing. The tigers pelt is shown as a dark orange to contrast its usual lightness in colour. As well as this to present a negative atmosphere around the tiger they use a black background from where its coming from as well as dark green colours for the branches a leafs.
The tagline 'curious cats' suggest the interest the consumer feels about picking up this educational magazine and wanting to learn. The colour scheme used does not have any hint of suggesting that it is there to help people learn and more like a casual documentary unlike a educational magazine.
This does not use any music but the type of shot they use for the tiger is a full shot.

The main character in this media product are two dolphin. These dolphins are represented in a positive way as the lighting used is quite bright which vibrates a positive atmosphere around the dolphins. In addition to this what also gives a positive vibe about the dolphins is that on the front cover it has posts about them the dolphins being our friends. To create a brand identity of saving the earth and making friends with animals they put as their logo eco planet which serves as an intriguing title with a environmental like colour scheme with it being green. There is no music used in this media product, however they use a mid shot to represent the animals and get people as close as they can through the magazine.

The one on the left is represented negatively as his arm is at his shoulder which shows some sense of insecurity of himself however the one on the right looks outgoing and confident which does not fit in with the title he has been labelled under by. The type of shot they are using is a mid shot and the lighting does not shine too deeply onto them because of the seriousness of the topic.

The person on the front cover is a male and i believe is represented negatively as it seems as if he is under stress and also seems to be dropping something due to this however i do not really think the picture has any relevance to the article. The colour scheme used in the title is pink for the first part to show a more feminine part of the title as it would represent girls. No music is used but the shot they are using is a long shot of the man.
