NEA Statement Of Intent.

My magazine will be informative and educational aimed at young children ages 10-13. It will contain information on how to play the game and basic knowledge of what it provides them. This includes various archetypes of different decks that can be used to play the game and how various techniques are formed and used. It aims to affect the people by making them more passionate about the game and therefore enticing them to play it as well. It represents the strategic value that card games like this poses and how much it can benefit a child’s learning. The main characters of the magazine will be an image of the main characters of the show as they would advertise the game best as they are commonly known. I will be using a mid-shot showing people playing and the basic format of how to play. Then I will have close up shots on the actual cards themselves to show what they look like in order for them to be recognised. This will also have text on the side in order to show the cards and how they can be used into forming a strategy for the player. The cover of the magazine is quite fundamental for me as it will draw the reader’s attention and the next page has to look simple enough to understand so that the reader does not look away. The font will be natural and it will have a harmonising colour scheme so that it will look appealing. I will be trying to convey how much playing the game can benefit children. I will also have people who will model in pictures of them playing the game so it can look easier and these people will be at around the same age as the target audience so that they can find it easier to learn from someone around the same age as them so the game will not be presented in a threatening way.
