NEA Statement Of Intent.

My magazine will be informative and educational aimed at young children ages 10-13. It will contain information on how to play the game and basic knowledge of what it provides them. This includes various archetypes of different decks that can be used to play the game and how various techniques are formed and used. It aims to affect the people by making them more passionate about the game and therefore enticing them to play it as well. It represents the strategic value that card games like this poses and how much it can benefit a child’s learning. The main characters of the magazine will be an image of the main characters of the show as they would advertise the game best as they are commonly known. I will be using a mid-shot showing people playing and the basic format of how to play. Then I will have close up shots on the actual cards themselves to show what they look like in order for them to be recognised. Nea magazine text

The whole idea is to become victor over your opponent in a duel. Each player’s deck consists of 40 to 60 cards in total which would contain many monster, spell and trap cards. The star’s above the monster card is it’s level, for a level 4 or under it can be summoned to the field from your hand which counts as a normal summon and can only be done once per your turn. For a monster with a level 5 or 6 it must take a sacrifice from a monster that has been on the field for a turn or longer and will be sent to the graveyard to make way for the new monster. A card with a level 7 or higher requires 2 tributes for the summon and this is called a tribute summon which counts as the normal summon. The maximum amount of monster cards that can out on the field at once are 5. Trap cards can be placed on the back row of your field and must have your turn to end before activating it. Location information - NEA part 7

This post will be about exploring various locations in order to heighten the value of my work as it shall improve the atmospheric value by the different locations affecting the audience. For my locations a desk or any flat surface with a singular colour would be suitable for taking photos to show what cards are going to be. This surface shall also be used to represent the card in a way to keep it stored in the mind as each picture can be recognised via the colour scheme of the background. I shall also use various shots to show the cards in order to show the significance of the card. When a card is vital for learning the game it shall be in a close up shot however if it is not a essential it will be put in a long shot with various other cards.

In this task i will be investigating how sketching can change and improve the artistic style of my product. I found this task useful as it provided me with a wide range of options to explore and choose from as it forces me to think of various ideas that has a significant relevance to my work in order to progress. From the people around me i have come to the conclusion of choosing the first one for the magazine as it showed the most interesting detail and the format would be most suitable for the people to learn from.

My mood board - Nea 5

In this task i will explore how different audiences consume media through the way its given to them using different fonts and images _________________________________________________________ This helps to define my product as it explains what the main focus is and what type of educational category it belongs to. the overall colour scheme of my product will be very light colours with reds peaches and possibly some oranges. Images I will use would be of different states that the cube could be in in order for the person to follow along. I would use a lot of close up shots in order to show this in proper detail and to explain to them what to do. I will use simply fonts like serif so that an awkward font that takes time to adjust to, will not distract them from what they are trying to do. ___________________________________________________________________________
